  1. Hi ladies! Congrats on a great first week! It's wonderful to have you all on board.

The Linky is all set up to go for tomorrow. The challenge closes at 12:00pm EST. At that time, the Winners link-up here on the DT blog will become active.

    Here's how it works:

    1) The hostess for the week will come here as early as possible to add her Captivator for the week. If you can't make the post on here, please email the group (or just me and Hayley) and let us know who you're choosing so the rest can add their pics!

    2) You'll know you're the hostess (picking the Captivator) from the Challenge Schedule, as well, I will add the name of who is the hostess for the challenge each time I update on Tuesday.

    3) I try my very best to send out a reminder (via comment here) that the linky is ready, but sometimes I forget! If you know you're the hostess for the week and you've added your Captivator pick and don't see anything from me, feel free to pop a comment in here and let others know you've made your selection :)

If you have any questions at all, please contact either myself or Hayley and we'll try and answer as quickly as possible!

  2. Hi! I posted my winner! I never realized how difficult this was to chose one card as a favorite. Julie's card #20 caught my eye and I kept going back to it, so that is the one I decided on. I hope I did this correctly. I am having so much fun being on the team with all of you! Hayley and Tara, please let me know if I did this right. I did comment on my column and a few others. Thanks again for everything! XX, Claire

  3. Hello Claire :) Thanks so much! The only thing that we do a little differently is rather than posting the full blog address we create a hyperlink with the winners blog name! I will do that for this week for you. Is this something you know how to do for next time? I would be happy to help with instructions if not!

  5. Thank you, Hayley! I am sorry that I didn't do it that way. I will let you know if I need help next time! :))) You are the BEST! Also, just wanted to say, I find it amazing that all the cards chosen were my favorites, too. I sure had a hard time picking a winner! Thanks for everything! XX

  6. I just want to let you know I have scheduled all the cards since we are going on vacation from the 14th till the 28th. I don't know if I will be able to comment during that time depends on the acces to internet in Greece. So I'm sorry if I can't pick a connoisseur.

  7. Hi ladies, Hayley has picked the Captivator for this week - please go in and add your connoisseur to the linky when you have a chance. All picks must be made no later than 8:55am EST tomorrow (Tuesday).
    Thank you :)

  8. Hey ladies, just wanted to let you know: I tried to comment on all the cards and of course on your projects, too, but for some reason my Google account is acting up and swallowing some comments as if I'd never typed them *urgh*. So, please don't think I've ignored you, I just haven't yet figured out where the problem is.

  9. Hi ladies - don't know what I did wrong this week but I went in and thought I'd chosen my connoisseur as no.2 Kim but something obviously went wrong somewhere :-/ I think I might have done it in the wrong place! And I have been diligently commenting on entrants cards all week. Will try better next week - honestly not sure what happened though!

    1. Hey Tara,

Since I'm seeing quite a few challenge entries that are entered into more than 3 challenges (sometimes up to 6), how strictly are we adhering to those rules? Also: is it OK (or not) to kindly point that out to the challenge participants when we comment?

      Delete
    2. Hi Julia, thanks for asking this! Hayley and I decided awhile back that although these entries will not be considered for a top pick position, we will not directly say they are breaking the rules. We leave it up to you guys whether or not you want to comment as well! You are not obligated to do so if they do not adhere to the rules.

  11. Ladies I've posted my choice for Captivator this week - I'm hoping it has worked properly! I've also commented on all the cards in the gallery this week (just a few additional ones from today to catch up on once I've typed this) - I figured you lucky ladies would all be busy at Convention this week and might not have time to comment so thought this might just make things a little easier.

Blurb: My winner for this week is Carole with her gorgeous CAS style card. The bold background makes the challenge colors pop & the sprinkle of sparkles is just beautiful. Congrats, Carole!

  16. Hey team,

since it's getting close to midnight here in Germany, I'll let you know about my winner this way since I don't know if I'll be up by the time the linky closes: My pick is Kim Heggins, entry #2. http://cupcakescardsandkim.blogspot.de/2014/08/one-card-and-coolest-socks-ever.html

Could someone enter me into the linky when it opens? Don't recall if an email is needed, but if that's the case, use juliacardmaker AT gmail DOT com.

    Text for the entry:
Julia: I love the simplicity and elegance of this card. Well done, Kim!

Thanks, gals, and good night :)

  22. Hi ladies - thank you all so much for getting your picks in here tonight. Again, I apologize for the delay in getting the linky posted. I have added all the entries but wanted to give you a heads up - I had to use some creative license with the verbiage as some of them exceeded the 100 characters allowed. Funny how quick 100 characters goes, eh? You can never seem to say all you want to say :)

If your 'blurb' looks off, that's why. If you want to make any changes, please let me know before 8:30am EST time tomorrow.

  23. Hey gals,

since it's getting towards bedtime here in Germany, I want to get my pick in, but I'm not sure whom Tara is going to choose as winner. In case you are not picking Julia from Zed Squared cards, can you enter her as my pick? Sorry for the inconvenience, but to me she's the winner and if you think so too, I don't want to rob her of it ;)

Julia's pick: Easily one of the most hilarious cards I've ever seen! Amazing job, Julia!

And if you are going to pick Julia and her super funny card, I'm picking Lynn Put instead.

Julia's pick: Amazing coloring, great layers – a wonderfully cheerful card by Lynn. Thanks for playing!

Again, my apologies for causing you extra work, but I just don't want to vote "officially" before Tara has gotten her vote in. :)

  24. Hi ladies!

So I made a bit of a boo-boo with the linky this week on the main blog and had it close at 8:55am EST instead of 12:00pm. I have extended the deadline until 4:00pm EST today to hopefully make up for it! I'm not sure if we'll get any additional entries, but wanted to give people the opportunity to get their projects in if they missed it.

Claire, you're up for picking the top pick tonight. For those of you across the pond that don't want to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to make your pick, you can leave a comment here with your pick and I'll add it to the linky.

    Sorry for the mix-up!

Hi Tara - time for bed here so my pick would be Sue's card: http://suescardcraft.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/ocean-sunset.html This beautifully calm and serene card makes subtle use of this week's colours to dramatic effect. Congrats Sue! Or alternatively, if this is Claire's choice too I would go with Cindy's card: http://cindymajor.typepad.com/encre_papier_ciseaux/2014/08/bokeh-technique-joy.html Cindy uses bokeh to great effect as a background to her Christmas joy card - gorgeous! 25. Just seen yesterday's picks come up in my blog feed - wondered where mine was, then realised: what are the odds on me choosing both the card Tara had as top pick and my second choice picked by Sherrie. All in the timing, I guess! Next time if I need to put in the comments I'll make 3 choices - reassuring to see that great minds think alike though!

    1. Hi Joanne, I checked your top 2 picks before selecting my winner....Julia had your second choice. I would have picked that one too if I could have...great minds do think alike!

  26. Hi Joanne, I'm very sorry - this was my fault! You can still go ahead and just pick two in situations like this.

Joanne and Julia, I think going forward if the Captivator hasn't been picked by the time you need to add your selection you can just go ahead and add it directly to the Linky and we can all work around it!

Does this sound fair to everyone?

    3. Hi Sherrie,
No, you are absolutely right - I'm glad you posted this comment. In cases like these, we'd prefer to have fewer winners than 'non-winners'. So we'll go with 4 picks this week.
      Captivator = Claire
Connoisseurs = Hayley, Joanne, Steph (since this is her last week with us).

Is this OK with everyone? Feel free to switch out who is picking if you can't get your pick in - I just went in order of how we host.

I'll get the link up in about 5!!
